As we see from the frontspiece, this
Swedish Bible originally belonged to the family of Johan Fredric
Enberg (1830-1881).
Closer examination of the Title Page indicates that this was an 1834
edition of Charles' Bible
(1703), published by Samuel Rumstedt in Stockholm. Charles' Bible (after King Charles
XII, 1682-1718) was a revision of the 1541 Gustav Vasa's Bible, and it
remained the official translation of the Church of Sweden until 1917.
